When launching the Vento program, the following message may appear:

"The update package cannot be downloaded."

Cause

The most common reason is missing write permissions.

Vento is usually installed directly on C:\, where regular users do not have full access.

Solution

Option 1: Move the Vento folder

  1. Close the Vento program.

  2. Locate the C:\Vento folder (or the folder where the program is installed).

  3. Copy the entire folder:

    • Right-click → Copy

  4. Paste the folder to Desktop or Documents:

    • Right-click → Paste

  5. Run Vento.exe from the new folder.

In this new location, users usually have full access. The update should complete successfully.

Option 2: Run as administrator

  1. Close the Vento program.

  2. Find Vento.exe or its shortcut.

  3. Right-click → Run as administrator

  4. If prompted, enter the administrator password.

After the update is complete, you can launch Vento normally again.

Option 3: Using the new updater

If the update cannot be installed even when run as administrator, replacing the original updater with a new version may help. Simply copy the new updater into the Vento folder and overwrite the existing file. It’s safe to send and use this solution — even if it’s not the root cause, it won’t break anything. Recommendation

Do not keep Vento installed directly in the root C:\ folder.

We recommend using folders like Documents or Desktop.

If you are using a company computer, please ask your IT department to move the program or adjust the permissions.
